The Trappers' Festival, held in The Pas during the third weekend of February, retains the flavour and celebrations of a diverse cultural heritage - the Northern Pioneer. The skills and activities enjoyed by the pioneers are brought to life in a week of events designed to generate sincere and genuine hospitality and friendship endemic to the North. Hunting

Hunt for black bear along the historic Saskatchewan River, following the route of the furtraders.

Fishing

Fish for northern pike and walleye during the day.

Birdwatching

Go in mid to late June to see Ross's Gull, Hudsonian Godwit, Arctic Tern, Smith's Longspur and lots of other sought-after birds.
